Palazzo Marescalchi Belli
A historic building in the center of Rome
Our apartments occupy the top floor of the Palazzo Marescalchi Belli, from which it is possible to enjoy unparalleled views of the historical centre of the city and of the Tiber river. The apartments can be reached via lift or via monumental staircase.
The building, an important and valuable construction dating back to the early years of last century , designed by the architect Felice Nori, numbers among the buildings once belonging to the aristocracy in the Rione Campo Marzio, one of the oldest areas in the city. The basement of the building houses the church of San Gregorio dei Muratori, which can be accessed from Via Leccosa.
The current chapel used to be the oratory of the church by the same name, which no longer exists. The church had been commissioned in 1527 by the Confraternita dei Muratori ( “Confraternity of Wall-builders”) in honour of their patron saint, Pope Gregory the Great.
